The short version
commit is an accountability tool. You declare commitments; we help you keep them by sending reminders. We collect only what runs that loop, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything yourself anytime from the Account screen.
commit is not a health or medical service— we don't give advice; we only track whether you did what you said you'd do.
What we collect
- — Account — your name, and an email (Google sign-in) or phone number.
- — Commitments — the short titles you write and their schedule.
- — Check-ins — whether you kept, missed, or paused each day.
- — Miss reasons & chats — free text you type when you tell us what got in the way. This can be personal; write only what you're comfortable sharing.
- — Product analytics — which screens/steps you use, to improve the flow. We do not send your commitment titles, miss reasons, chat content, or name/number to analytics — you're a random ID there.
- — Technical data your browser sends (e.g. IP), and push-notification subscriptions if you enable reminders.
We do not collect photos, location, wearable/health data, or payment information (commit is free during this phase).
Why we use it
We process your data to provide the service you asked for and on the basis of your consent — which you can withdraw anytime by turning off reminders or deleting your account. We never sell or rent your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small set of vendors, each receiving only what its job needs:
- — Supabase — database & sign-in (AWS Mumbai, India).
- — Vercel — app hosting.
- — Anthropic (Claude) — the AI onboarding & miss conversations (US). It receives your messages and your first name; under Anthropic's terms this data is not used to train their models.
- — Twilio — sends SMS reminders (US).
- — PostHog — product analytics; pseudonymous usage only (US).
- — Google — "Sign in with Google," if you choose it (US).
The witness (coming soon)
commit is built around a witness — one person you nominate who receives a short weekly recap of how you did. This feature is not active yet.Until it launches we don't collect any witness's details; if you ask to be notified when it's ready, we store only that you're interested. When it does launch, you'll always be the one to nominate someone (only ever someone you've asked), and they'll be able to opt out at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep sensitive free text — the reasons you write when you miss — for 90 days, then automatically blank it, keeping only the kept/missed tally. Everything else is kept until you delete your account, at which point all of it is erased immediately and permanently.
Your choices
The Account screen lets you sign out and permanently delete your account and everything in it. You can turn push reminders on/off anytime, and reply STOP to any SMS. For access, correction, or export requests, email adityakelshikar@gmail.com.
Age & security
commit is for adults — you must be 18 or older. We use encrypted connections and row-level database security so each account can only reach its own data.
